*2 Hours of Elimination of Bias MCLE Credit in California*
In this training, hosted by the Prosecutors Alliance and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC), we highlight some basics of federal immigration law, the duties of the prosecution imposed by recent California state legislation, and a collaborative approach to handling both current plea negotiations and post-conviction relief litigation.
Speaker: Jerry Coleman is a veteran prosecutor with 45 years of experience. He is retired from the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and currently working at the Marin County District Attorney's Office. For the last 7 years, he has been the Immigration Relief Special Deputy District Attorney for those two counties. In that work, he has handled over 350 post-conviction motions (PC 1474.3, PC 1016.5, PC 1018) and a similar number of current state criminal pleas involving mitigation of adverse federal immigration consequences.
